The short answer
- Broom-finish or troweled concrete patio: ~$10–$12 per square foot installed
- Stamped / stained decorative concrete patio: upwards of ~$18–$20 per square foot installed
A common 300 sq ft patio runs roughly $3,000–$3,600 broom or $5,400–$6,000+ stamped.
What drives the price
- Finish. Plain broom is cheapest; stamped patterns, integral color and borders cost more (and look like stone at a fraction of paver prices).
- Grading & drainage. The patio has to shed water away from your foundation. Tricky lots that need regrading or drainage add cost — but skipping it causes pooling and cracking.
- Base prep, thickness & mix. Proper compacted base and reinforcement — fiber, wire mesh and a higher-PSI mix — are what keep a patio from cracking across the middle.
- Site access & tear-out. Removing an old patio, hauling material through tight access, or having to pump the concrete to a hard-to-reach spot all add labor.
- Features. Steps, seat walls and fire-feature pads add to the total.
